Kingdom Fellowship CDC Consolidation Services Hub

During the COVID-19 pandemic, food insecurity among Montgomery County residents, especially communities of color, has more significantly increased requiring innovative means for delivering food assistance and related services.  The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human services (DHHS) has partnered with the Kingdom Fellowship Community Development Corporation (KFCDC), designating them a Consolidated Services Hub to maintain a presence in the East County communities.  The KFCDC Hub will play an instrumental role in ensuring access to food and other vital services for these communities that need them the most. Some of the services coordinated through the Hub will include: food assistance, SNAP registration, rental and utilities assistance, toiletries, household supplies and health supports.

The KFCDC Hub is a community-based effort and will engage surrounding schools, apartment complexes, neighborhoods and other locations to connect with underserved, disengaged and isolated groups. The primary service area for the Hub includes Calverton, White Oak, Briggs Chaney, Burtonsville, Fairland and Hillandale communities.

Such a sizable mission can’t be achieved alone and as such, we are working alongside several East County Food Access Providers* and other partner organizations to include:

Over the past few months, we have served thousands of households by providing over 350,000 lbs. of free groceries, including shelf stable groceries, farm fresh produce, and proteins (chicken, fish, turkey, and pork). We understand the hardship this pandemic has placed on our communities and will continue to do our part to meet the needs of our neighbors, families, and friends.

Our COVID-19 Outreach Impact

  • 13,781 – households served
  • 379,130 lbs. of food provided
  • 6,200 in financial assistance to KFAME members
  • 11,500 global partnerships

We are equally as excited by the expanded partnerships we have formed with businesses, government, non-profits and other community- based organizations.
